Physical Activity
A growing number of teams based at the Borders General Hospital and our community based hospitals are promoting the benefits of physical activity to their patients.
Part of this work involves identifying how patients can be supported to participate in suitable physical activity and referring patients to services across the Borders. The pre-assessment clinic at the Borders General Hospital routinely ask patients about their physical activity levels and refer them on to the Lifestyle Adviser Support Service (LASS), LIVE Borders and Walk It.
The Cardiac Specialist nurses and Podiatry team discuss lifestyle issues routinely at their clinics and refer patients to LASS, Quit 4 Good as well providing health information leaflets.
