Here in NHS Borders, Children and Young Peoples (CYP) Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) is a collective title for professions on the sign post below.
When children have difficulties with their learning, feelings, thinking or using their bodies, this can affect how they to grow, speak, learn, make friends and play, which can mean they have problems with basic day-to-day activities. This will also affect how they are able to join in school activities, make friends and do things by themselves when they are grown up.
The Children & Young Peoples AHP Service(s) works with children, young people and their families/carers to help them to be as healthy and able to do things by themselves as they can.
We are excited to work with to those closest to the child (parent, guardian, teacher, etc) to identify areas of need and ensure the child gets the right input at the right time. To find out more about each service and how to get in touch with us please click on the signpost below.
Some AHP services are working in local communities (universal work) offering support and advice to encourage the ongoing development of children who don’t require individual input. To find out more about universal work each service provides click on the links below.
