Who are we?
We are a group of Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) who have a Borders-wide remit for adults and children with communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
Click here for information on how we work and how to get in touch.
The Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) department consists of Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) and Speech and Language Therapy Assistants (SLTAs).
All SLTs employed by NHS Borders are registered with our regulating body, the Healthcare Professions Council (HCPC) and our professional body, the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Most therapists work within the SLT team or an inter-agency/multidisciplinary team (e.g. Complex Needs or Neurodevelopmental). Team working promotes equity of service provision, effective skill mix and encourages clinical reflective practice.
