The following table shows the number of weeks that patients on an NHS Borders Outpatient or Inpatient Waiting List have waited for a general or routine appointment or treatment over the last month. It is important to note that this is not the length that you will have to wait, but represents the maximum time you could wait based on our current position. The majority of patients will have waited for less than the number of weeks outlined in the table.

Patients referred urgently, or deemed as requiring an urgent assessment on review, will be prioritised and we will aim to see this group of patients as quickly as possible.

Please note that reported waits are indicative and are provided in order to give you information on how long you may have to wait for your treatment or appointment. It is important to note that these do not represent a guarantee and actual waits may vary depending on the clinical priority assigned to you by your clinical team, and in accordance with the agreed Clinical Prioritisation Framework.

Waiting times reported show the maximum wait that 90% of patients were seen within, in the past 3 months. This means that while the majority of patients seen will have waited this number of weeks or less, a small number will have experienced a longer wait.
