What we do:

It is our philosophy to provide a high standard of individualised care to help people attaining maximum independence. The patients' dignity is maintained and care is provided in a safe environment.

About our services:

Hay Lodge Hospital has a 23 bed adult In-Patient ward providing medical care, palliative and end of life care, and rehabilitation. Medical support is provided by the local General Practitioners.

Relatives/Visitors - please ensure your relative/ friend has toiletries and clothing to meet their needs for the duration of their stay in hospital.

How to access our services:

Access to the service is through the General Practitioner or, where appropriate, following discharge from the Borders General Hospital.

If you require care or treatment, you can save time by seeking the right care in the right place:

  • Often your first port of call should be the NHS inform website. There are lots of self-help guides available for a wide range of ailments and illnesses and information about services, including opening times, that are available to best meet your needs such as your local community pharmacy.

  • If you think you need to go to the Emergency Department but it’s not critical or life-threatening, call NHS 24 on 111, day or night, or contact your General Practice.

  • If it’s an emergency, you should still call 999 or go straight to the Emergency Department.
