About the Small Changes, Big Difference campaign
‘Small Changes, Big Difference’ supports people across the Borders to improve and maintain their health and wellbeing. Here you can find key information and a range of initiatives and incentives to help you improve your own health and sense of wellbeing.
The campaign was launched by NHS Borders in October 2015; winning an award in 2016. It was extended to Scottish Borders Council and SB Cares staff in 2016.
Campaign Ambition 1
Supporting our staff to improve their own health and wellbeing underpins the campaign. By developing a healthy workforce we equip ourselves to deliver excellence in our workplaces.
Campaign Ambition 2
Talking to people about their health and wellbeing alongside their medical care, supports our aim to provide high quality, safe and effective patient centred care.
Letting you know that these conversations will happen when you attend appointments with health and social care professionals and engaging more of our staff to have these conversations on a regular basis is the focus of the ‘Small Changes, Big Difference’ campaign.
Campaign Ambition 3
People have busy lives and many things compete for their time and attention. However, if we ask people to consider making small changes to their lifestyles, they are more likely to keep them up and by doing so make a positive impact on their health and wellbeing.
Award Winner
The 'Small Changes, Big Difference' campaign scooped a 'highly commended' award for the best use of social media in a healthcare campaign. The award is part of the UK's leading IT Healthcare EHI awards 2015. It's great recognition for everyone who has supported the campaign, shared and liked our stories. Thank you from the team who had a small idea and have a big ambition to get people talking and actively improving health and well-being in the Scottish Borders.
