It is our philosophy to provide a high standard of individualised care to help people attaining maximum independence. The patients dignity is maintained and care is provided in a safe environment.
About our services:
Kelso Hospital has an adult in-patient 23 bed ward delivering care to patients with a wide variety of conditions/interventions including:
- Patients who are acutely unwell
- Rehabilitation
- Assessment
- Paliative and End of Life Care
There is a part time Physiotherapist and a full time Occupational Therapist in the ward providing assessments and rehabilitation plans.
We provide close links with Dietitians, Speech and Language Therapists and the Social Work department.
Medical cover is provided by NHS Borders Geriatricians two sessions a week and our Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) Monday - Friday.

How to access our services:
Access to the service is through the General Practitioners within the Cheviot Locality or transfer from the Borders General Hospital.
The hospital has no Minor Injuries Service.
If you need health advice or treatment for non-life-threatening conditions, please call NHS 24 on 111 and they will signpost you to the right place to get the advice or care that you need.
If it is an emergency, you should call 999 or attend the BGH Emergency Department, where our team will be able provide you with emergency medical care.
