Prediabetes Education

We offer those who have a diagnosis of Prediabetes support to help reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes (T2D).

What is Prediabetes?

Prediabetes is a condition where your blood sugars are higher than normal, but not high enough for you to have a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes.  This may also be called:

  • Impaired Fasting Glucose (IFG)
  • Impaired Glucose Tolerance (IGT)
  • Impaired Glucose Regulation (IGR)
  • Non-Diabetic Hyperglycaemia

A blood test called a HbAic can be used to test for Prediabetes.  A HbAic between 42mmol/mol - 47mmol/mol is higher than normal and indicates you are at risk of developing diabetes.
