The Scottish Borders Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is pleased to announce that two community events will take place in March for people living with dementia and their carers.

One of the events will take place at Heart of Hawick on Monday 24 March and the other will take place in the Burgh Hall, Peebles, on Tuesday 25 March. Both events will run from 1pm – 4.30pm.

The events are designed to provide practical support and a platform for sharing experiences for people living with dementia and the people who care for them.

Attendees will gain valuable tips on how to make their homes more dementia-friendly and will have the chance to meet representatives from local support services. Importantly, these events will also provide an opportunity for individuals and carers to share their views on living with dementia, with a focus on what matters most to them.

Booking is essential as spaces are limited, and transport can be arranged if required.

Christine Proudfoot, Nurse Consultant/Strategic Dementia Lead for the Scottish Borders HSCP, said: “The Scottish Borders Health and Social Care Partnership is committed to improving the lives of people living with dementia and their carers. These community events will provide an important opportunity to listen and learn from personal experiences, ensuring that our support services truly reflect the needs of our communities. By coming together, we can help create a more dementia-friendly region and empower people with practical solutions for everyday living.

“We are striving to ensure that the voices of people living with dementia and their carers are at the heart of shaping future services in the Scottish Borders. We encourage everyone impacted by dementia to join us and be part of the conversation.”
