We are pleased to share that our Obstetrics & Gynaecology (O&G) team at the Borders General Hospital has received positive feedback in a Scotland Deanery Quality Management Visit Report published at the end of May.
The Scotland Deanery is responsible for ensuring the quality management of postgraduate medical education and training to the standards set by the General Medical Council (GMC).
The visit took place virtually on 23 March 2023, and was attended by six trainers and seven trainees from NHS Borders. The Deanery reported that “training is prioritised” and there is a “desire to maximise all available opportunities.” Collaborative working was demonstrated and positive working relationships and culture within the department were evidenced.
Dr Lynn McCallum, Medical Director at NHS Borders said: “I want to thank everybody in the team for the incredible work they do to support training doctors in the organisation. We are delighted that the hard work of our trainers and the positive experiences of trainees in the Obstetrics & Gynaecology department has been recognised in the Scotland Deanery Quality Management Visit Report.
“The feedback from trainees really underpins that a career with NHS Borders is a career with a supportive team, wide ranging training opportunities, and a positive workplace culture.”
