Post COVID-19 Rehabilitation
On the CSP website there is advice and management techniques as well as what to expect after having coronavirus. The page has breathing and strengthening exercises plus an activity planner to enable pacing and gradual return to full activities
The World Health Organisation's (WHO) booklet is to help support for rehabilitation self- management after covid- 19- Related illness.
General strengthening and breathing exercises can be found in the booklet. Advice on other possible side effects after coronavirus can also be found here.
Post COVID-19 Fatigue
The Royal College of Occupational Therapists have developed a website along with leaflets on how to manage post viral fatigue and energy conservation. They have advice for those recovering from coronavirus at home and after a hospital admission. The site can be found here
The British Association for CFS/ME (Bacme)produced a booklet which guides can help as a guide to post viral fatigue, the booklet is designed to give advice and reassurance on pacing and return to activity and can be found here
The ME Foundation have also produced a leaflet on Post-viral fafigue (PVF) and Post-viral fatigue syndrome (PVFS) following coronavirus and looks into the background, symptoms and management. The leaflet can be found here.
Post COVID-19 Recovery
The Royal College of Speech and language have put together some videos on the problems with eating, drinking and swallowing, known as ‘dysphagia’, which can happen to people recovering from COVID-19
They have also produced a video on the problems some people are experienceing with their voice following recovery from COVID-19. This video gives some simple and practical advice about how to look after your voice and reduce irritation following COVID-19.
The British Voice Association has produced a help leaflet for those experiencing voice problems after COVID-19 and can be found here
Other Support
The Association of UK Dieticians has some advice around diet and malnutrition while recovering from COVID-19 and can be found on their webpage here.
"Your COVID Recovery" is an NHS website with lots of information and support to those recovering from the affects of COVID. The site has resources such as effect management, wellbeing, returning to work and how to understand and support friends or family that have been affected.
Self Help UK has a survivors group for those who have been through COVID and feel they would like to share their experience. They also have a dedicated Facebook group for those wishing to connect this way.
Patients who have concerns about their recovery from COVID-19 are encouraged to seek the advice of a GP or other Health Professional, who can provide bespoke advice and support.
